Industrial Ecology Network Event 2013, 18 June 2013

Save the date June 18 2013 for the first Leiden-Delft Industrial Ecology Network Event. This event provides an excellent opportunity for all MSc Industrial Ecologists (students, alumni and teachers) to meet, mingle and get inspired!

Piet Hein van der Graaf appointed new Director of Research LACDR

Dr. Piet Hein van der Graaf (1965) will be the new Director of Research for the Academic Center for Drug Research (LACDR) at the Leiden University. As a part time professor of System Pharmacology at the LACDR, Van der Graaf will give his inaugural lecture the 27th of may 2013.

Introduction meeting for new employees, 22 April

For all new employees that started their employment this year (except PhD students) the University will organise an introduction meeting on 22 April to tell about our University, the faculty and its rich traditions.

NeCEN Open House, 26 March

On March 26th NeCEN's doors will be open for everyone interested. The programme provides visitors information on the achievements researchers have made so far with the electron microscopes, the projects that could benefit from the technology, how to apply for the use of the microscopes, the costs involved and more.

Invitation to researchers for NEO Study workshop, 21 March

LURIS is organising a workshop on the use of the database/biobank from the Netherlands Epidemiology of Obesity Study (NEO). The LUMC has been collecting data for this study over the last 4 years and they would now like to offer the database/biobank for collaboration with other institutions and companies.

News concerning the ‘New University workstation Services’ (NUWS)

In October of 2012 the General and Administrative Services Department and the ICT Shared Service Center (ISSC) introduced the 'New University Workstation Services' (NUWS). The aim of this project is to upgrade all workstations (Windows, Mac & Linux) within the university to provide staff and students with a modern and efficient work environment. The project also consists of improving the services related to the workstations.

Luris events for PhD and Academic Staff

Leiden University Research and Innovation Services organises several workshops about 'Partnering your Science', 'Commercial and policy' and 'Contractual and legal workshops in January, February and March.

Open consultation on institutional quality assurance

On the 21st and 22nd of January, our university will be audited by the NVAO (Dutch/Flemish Accreditation Organisation) on the quality of our education. All Dutch universities are required by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science to undergo such evaluation.

Christmas lunch concert, Thursday 20 December

The Christmas Lunch Concert will take place on Thursday 20 December From 12.30 – 13.30 hrs at the Hall of the Gorlaeus Laboratory. The Christmas choir 'Collegium Musicum will sing cheerful and Glühwein and Chocolate Milk will be served.
