May 2012 - Former IBL-employee Gerrit de Leeuw Knighted
Former IBL-employee Gerrit de Leeuw received the honor of becoming a “Knight” in the Order of Orange-Nassau (Ridder in de Orde van Oranje Nassau) for his life-time achievements as an employee and volunteer.

He worked for 42 years in the Faculty of Science for the Department of Biology. Ten years ago he retired and left our university. He has always been a high-valued colleague and during his last years at the university he was the head of the Laboratory Service Department. In addition, he did a lot of work for different volunteer organizations, e.g. he was a very active member of the Association for Immediate Care. He was also a member of the University Council between 1985 and 1991.
